This project consisted on creating a website aimed at 1st Year students of the Graphic Design program to let them know about the skills that are needed on a more professional setting.
This project started with a sitemap with the content of the websites as well as some brainstorming. In this photo there's also "job search" feature idea that would take in account the items that the user check-listed, and show job positions that needed those sets of skills. This idea was out of the scope of the project and therefore wasn't implemented on the design.
My second step was coming up with content. I made a Notion file with the list of skills I wanted to add in each page, as well as some of the quotes and useful info that I got from graphic designers. Here's the link.
The final design went through some iterations, mainly layout-wise. Here are the screenshots from the process.
The St. Lawrence College branding was added lastly, as per requirements of the project.
This website consisted on 3 pages aimed at different skills. Technical skills, soft skills, and personal skills.
Every page had 2 sides, the left one which had useful quotes by designers in the industry, as well as a small description of what the skills consist of. The right side had a checklist of the skills/programs on each category, the idea of this is for people to check the skills that want to/are going to learn and keep it as a sort of a tracker.
